Start with category terms
Trim is a broad term for decorative garment finishing; كلف is useful in Arabic sourcing conversations. Lace trim can be described as شريط دانتيل, beaded trim as كلفة مطرزة بالخرز, and embroidered trim as شريط مطرز. Usage varies, so attach the exact photograph and reference. None of these words alone confirms material content, technique or the unit sold.
Describe appliqués and direction
Appliqué is commonly written أبليك, with أبليكات for multiple pieces; a neckline appliqué can be described as أبليك ياقة. Add single piece, قطعة واحدة, or left/right pair, زوج يمين ويسار, as appropriate. Mark left and right on a garment sketch and state whether this means the wearer's side. A translated product name cannot resolve an ambiguous placement photograph by itself.
Define measurements and units
Overall width means العرض الكلي; embroidered width is عرض التطريز; motif repeat is طول تكرار النقشة. Metre is متر, yard is ياردة, roll is لفة and piece is قطعة. For a set, طقم, list the contents. For a roll, ask for net length and joins. Include written units beside numbers so a short chat message does not turn centimetres into metres or pieces into pairs.
Confirm the meaning with a short example
An enquiry can say: reference MET-1016, selected gallery image, required quantity in metres, and a request to confirm colour, width and sample availability. Add a marked image after opening WhatsApp. Ask the supplier to restate any unclear quantity or specification in the reply. A shared reference, measurement diagram and physical sample are stronger purchasing records than relying on translation alone.
