Ask whether split supply can be considered
Tell the supplier that you are considering several deliveries and ask which arrangements can be discussed. Do not assume a single quotation includes storage, reservation or several dispatches. Provide the total requested quantity and the proposed stages, with destination information for each. Keep the plan provisional until the supplier confirms what is available and which conditions apply.
Allocate complete production needs
List what each production stage actually needs by reference, variant and unit. A first delivery containing borders but not their matching necklines may not release a complete garment task. Check the component sheet and identify any dependencies. Separate the quantities requested for immediate use from later quantities rather than relying on a broad percentage of the total order.
Clarify continuity between deliveries
Ask how the proposed deliveries will relate to the approved sample and any colour or batch references. If the same garment set spans several deliveries, discuss that requirement explicitly. Do not assume a later shipment will be identical merely because it uses the same catalogue number. Keep any comparison or approval step in the stage plan so it is not overlooked when the next release is requested.
Keep one live delivery schedule
Use a dated schedule showing requested dates, confirmed arrangements, quantities released and open questions. Record changes against the affected stage and ask for acknowledgement. Confirm packing and dispatch details for each agreed shipment separately. The schedule is a coordination record, not a delivery promise until the parties have confirmed the relevant arrangements for that stage.
- Split-delivery feasibility and conditions requested first.
- Each stage has a complete component allocation.
- One dated schedule distinguishes requested and confirmed arrangements.

A real catalogue example. Confirm its suitability, dimensions and performance separately.
