Define what one kit contains

Choose whether a kit serves one garment, a size bundle or a complete workshop task. List its components with units: individual appliqués, pairs and cut lengths are different items. Link the kit to the garment style and accepted component sheet. Avoid an unlabeled bag called complete set when several people will interpret what complete means.

Keep orientation and lengths identifiable

Use your internal labels or diagrams to show the wearer's left and right, the top of directional motifs and the intended cut length. Keep paired pieces together without hiding a missing partner. Where the same trim serves several sizes, separate bundles by the actual layout requirement. A common product reference does not mean every prepared piece can be exchanged between tasks.

Check the kit before releasing it

Compare the prepared quantities with the task sheet and identify any held or substituted component. Keep unresolved items visibly on hold rather than filling the gap with a similar colour or motif. Record who checked the kit and which revision was used. The workshop should receive one applicable instruction set, not several chat photographs with conflicting layouts.

Use kit shortages to improve the next enquiry

Log shortages by exact component, variant and unit, including the garment tasks affected. When contacting the supplier, send those lines rather than requesting more trim generally. Ask about replacement availability and compatibility with the accepted sample. Keep any proposed change subject to approval before mixing it into prepared kits; a fast response alone does not establish a matching component.

  • Kit scope and component units defined.
  • Left/right, size and cut-length requirements visible.
  • Shortages and substitutions held against a dated revision.
