Break the request into lines

A mixed order has several quantity questions, not one. Give each reference and colour its own line with a defined unit. State the quantity you would like to buy before asking which minimum applies. A large overall total does not establish that each design or colour meets its own conditions, and a minimum quoted for one reference should not be assumed to cover the whole catalogue.

Separate sampling from a trial wholesale order

Explain whether you need a small evaluation sample or saleable stock for a first assortment. These are different requests and may have different availability or charges. If your target quantity cannot be supplied, ask which changes could be reviewed: fewer colours, another reference or a different packing format. Treat every option as a question rather than advertising unrestricted mixed minimums.

Keep units consistent in the negotiation

For borders, distinguish metres, yards and defined rolls. For appliqués, specify a single piece, a left/right pair or a set with stated contents. An offered bundle may change the physical quantity even if the unit count looks smaller. Ask for the confirmed contents and usable quantity in writing so the decision can be compared with your original requirement.

Confirm the revised assortment

If quantities or colours change, send one updated list instead of leaving the agreement across scattered messages. Confirm which lines can proceed, which need a sample and which remain open.
