List the fabrics that can touch the decoration
A beaded border may sit beside a scarf, sleeve lining or a second garment layer. List the actual fabrics involved and mark the likely contact areas on the garment. Do not assess only the fabric underneath the trim. A different outer layer can introduce a contact point that was absent from the original flat sample.
Observe normal movement on an assembled sample
Have the garment team review the expected dressing and movement sequence with the intended layers. Note the point of any catch and photograph the decoration and fabric involved. Avoid pulling harder to force a result or treating an informal trial as a standardised test. If a defined performance claim is required, agree the appropriate assessment and evidence separately.
Compare a layout change before changing the product
Review whether the contact can be addressed by moving the trim, changing the exposed end or selecting a less projecting candidate. Keep each trial linked to its own reference and placement version. Do not remove or alter components from the supplied sample without a separate construction review. An undocumented modification makes later bulk comparison difficult.
Report the contact point precisely
Send the supplier the reference, exact variant, fabric description and annotated photographs of the observed issue. Explain the intended use and ask which alternatives can be considered. Record what was accepted, rejected or left unresolved. A useful sourcing message identifies the interaction to solve; saying the trim is rough does not show whether the problem is at the face, edge or reverse.

- Observed catches linked to a sample and placement.
