Identify every independent piece
A photograph can arrange loose appliqués into an attractive panel without showing an assembled product. Ask which pieces are separate and what the selling unit includes. Number the components on your proposed layout and identify repeated shapes. Do not assume connecting mesh, backing or assembly is supplied unless it is part of the confirmed quotation.
Make a placement map at actual size
Arrange samples or measured outlines over the garment panel and mark the centre, boundary and spaces between pieces. Check left/right direction and the distance from seams. Photograph the complete map with labels that your own team can read. A layout made by enlarging a catalogue photograph may change the apparent size and produce a panel that cannot be reproduced with the actual pieces.
Calculate quantities by component
Count each component per panel, then multiply by the planned panel quantity. Keep mirrored pieces and small filling motifs on separate lines. If a selling unit contains a mixture, ask how its contents relate to the required counts. A nominal total piece count can conceal a shortage of one directional flower even while other shapes remain unused.
Approve the assembled panel separately
Trial the assembly method on the intended fabric and inspect both faces before confirming the panel plan. Send the component references and quantity table with the marked layout. State whether you are requesting loose pieces or asking about assembly availability. The enquiry should describe the supply task clearly, while technical approval remains tied to the accepted garment-panel sample.
